Falls Church, VA:     BalletNova Center for Dance presents Paquita & Other Works on May 2nd (7:30 pm), 3rd (7:30 pm) and 4th (3:00 pm) at the Thomas Jefferson Community Theater in Arlington (125 S. Old Glebe Rd, Arlington VA, 22204).

BalletNova’s Artistic Director Nancie Woods re-stages Pepita’s virtuosic Paquita. This classical ballet takes place in Spain during the occupation of Napoleon’s army and is imbued with a zesty, Spanish flair.

Ms. Woods brings back a BalletNova favorite, her Grand Tarantelle. This Italian inspired ballet is a fast paced virtuoso classical ballet piece for 12 dancers set to the exuberant music by Louis Moreau Gottschalk.

BNCD faculty member and former Martha Graham company dancer Constance Walsh brings her new work Sígame to the stage. This contemporary ballet piece explores the spirit of the tango and captures the fiery Latin spirit.

GinDance Company joins BalletNova with a special performance of the Asian inspired modern dance, The Teller. Gin Dance delivers a compelling performance that delivers an awakening, encouraging viewers to take charge and tell the story of their own life. GinDance is one of BalletNova’s resident companies, and is part of the ChoreoLab incubator program.
