RootedNY Event: Foraging, Farming & Distiling on Oct. 18

RootedNY - Foraging Farming and Distilling

Learn about foraging for wild edibles on untouched, beautiful private land that abuts the Appalachian Trail this October 18, 2015. Hike through natural forests while Leda Meredith, an instructor on foraging certified in ethnobotany, guides you on where to look for and how to identify wild plants.

After your hike, enjoy lunch and head over to Black Dirt Distillery for a tour and tasting. Black Dirt Distillery makes a whiskey with corn grown in The Black Dirt Region, a deposit of extremely fertile soil in Orange County New York, where you can actually taste the rich soil in the whiskey.

Tickets are $110 per person, including foraged food, whiskey tastings, lunch, transportation from and to Manhattan, tax, and gratuity. Pick up (9:30am) and drop off (6:00pm) will be at Madman Espresso at 336 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018.
